Effect of operational parameters on production of CaCO3 particles in the Arc-blade rotating packed bed (Arc-RPB) reactor

This study examines the synthesis of CaCO3 particles using CO2, MEA, and CaCl2 as raw materials in an Arc-blade rotating packed bed (Arc-RPB). The research investigates the impact of experimental parameters, such as MEA and CaCl2 concentration, on the particle size of CaCO3. The size distribution profile of CaCO3 particles was determined using the dynamic light scattering (DLS) method. The DLS test results indicate that the size of calcium carbonate particles decreases as the concentration of MEA solution increases at a constant concentration of 0.5 molar calcium chloride. Similarly, the results show that the size of calcium carbonate particles increases as the concentration of CaCl2 increases at a constant concentration of 0.5 molar MEA.
